PRIVACY POLICY

Private by design.

What Cueboard does with your text, who processes it, and what is kept. In plain words.

The short version

Who processes what

The text you ask Cueboard to improve

When you switch to the Cueboard keyboard, or tap Optimize in the app or the share sheet, Cueboard reads the text you are working on (the text around the cursor, or the text you selected) so it can write a better version. It only reads that text while Cueboard is on screen. Cueboard has no letter keys and does not record keystrokes. In Mail, a signature or quoted thread below your text is left alone and is not sent.

On your iPhone. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence (with “Prefer on-device” on in Settings), the text is written by Apple's on-device model and never leaves your iPhone.

In the cloud, with your permission. Otherwise, and only after you tap “Agree and continue” on the “Your text, your call” screen, the text is sent over an encrypted connection to Cueboard's server (which runs on Cloudflare) and passed on to our AI provider, Groq, Inc. (United States), which runs the AI model that writes the result. Sent with it: the “Make it” choices you picked, your writing tone (when you're writing something in your voice), the details from the You tab that fit the prompt, and your first name only when Cueboard signs an email for you. Cueboard's server does not store or log this text, and Cueboard does not use it to train models. Groq processes requests under its own privacy policy.

You can withdraw permission any time in Settings → Privacy. Without it, Cueboard sends nothing to the cloud.

What our server keeps

To count your free prompts and the two-week Pro trial, and to check Pro with Apple, our server keeps: a random device ID that Cueboard creates (stored in your iPhone's Keychain, so it survives reinstalling, and not linked to your name, email or Apple Account), when the device was first and last seen, the app version, how many prompts were written and applied, and your subscription status and its App Store transaction ID. It also counts new installs per network each day using a salted, one-way hash of the IP address, to prevent abuse; the IP address itself is not stored. None of this is used for advertising or shared with anyone.

Kept on your iPhone

Your theme, settings, writing tone, “About you” and You-tab details, prompt counts and streak, and the last result the keyboard wrote are stored on your iPhone, in storage shared between the Cueboard app and its keyboard. They may be included in your device backups, and they are deleted when you delete Cueboard (the device ID stays in your Keychain).

Purchases

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple. Apple handles the payment; Cueboard never sees your payment details. Your iPhone and our server check with Apple whether your Pro subscription is active.

Full Access

iOS asks you to “Allow Full Access” for keyboards that use the network. Cueboard needs it to reach the AI model when it can't write on your iPhone, and to share settings between the keyboard and the app. Cueboard doesn't use Full Access for anything else.

Your choices

Children

Cueboard is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
